The Town Museum in Nov\u00e9 M\u011bsto nad Metuj\u00ed is located in a 16th-century house appended to the artillery tower, which was part of the town’s fortifications. The museum’s exhibitions are devoted to the history of the town and to the natural environment of the region. The ground floor includes a part of the original Baroque-style pharmacy, which from the mid-18th century to the 1950s served the needs of the local Brothers of Mercy monastery. The Townspeople’s Nativity Scene in the museum has been created since 2001 in the sculpture studio of Jarmila Haldov\u00e1 from Sedlo\u0148ov. Every year, more wooden figurines are added, courtesy of various sponsors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

On the first floor, one can see an exhibition of PRIM watches, the first Czechoslovak wristwatches, produced from 1949 in Nov\u00e9 M\u011bsto by Chronotechna (later Elton). The Historical Room describes the history of the town, its foundation and construction, and the main landowners. The Hall of Crafts features crafts practiced in the city and at the foothills of the Eagle Mountains (Orlicke mountains): weaving, tailoring, shoemaking, printing and wood processing. An old Bohemian household with period furniture and utensils is presented here. The natural history exhibition, with interactive elements for children, acquaints them with the natural environment of the city’s surroundings, both living and inanimate.<\/span><\/p>

In the summer season, the Museum invites visitors to lectures on folk medicine and pharmacy with practical demonstrations in the museum’s herb garden.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
