The exhibition of the Nachod Regional Museum presents the history of Nachod and its surroundings from prehistoric times to the present day (2000). One can learn here about the daily rituals of prehistoric women, as well as admire Lusatian, Celtic and Germanic ceramics. In the part devoted to the Middle Ages, you can experience the adventure of setting up new castles, laying out city streets and building churches. A demonstration of Hussite weapons is also planned.<\/span><\/p>

In the section representing the 16th century, visitors look into colourful books of the Bible and observe the development of the Renaissance N\u00e1chod during the reign of the Smi\u0159ice family, one of the most famous Czech noble families. On the second floor, each guest has the opportunity to look at everyday life in the 17th and 18th centuries. Based on the exhibits on display, you can try to guess which guild the individual items came from and what they were used for.<\/span><\/p>

A log house from the end of the 18th century (cultural monument) with non-original bakery equipment and country furniture. On August 23, 1851, the writer Alois Jir\u00e1sek was born there. His father Josef was a local baker.<\/span><\/p>

The museum itself, and the theatre in which it is located are named after the outstanding writer Alois Jir\u00e1sek (1851\u20131930). The exhibition is devoted to his person and work, and above all to real life models of literary figures. The exhibition also commemorates other important people from Hronov: the painter and writer Josef \u010capek, the writer Egon Hostovsk\u00fd and the architect Jind\u0159ich Freiwald. In addition, it introduces the history of the famous local amateur theatre (curtains, etc.) and other curiosities (eg folk costumes worn in the Hronov region in the last century).<\/span><\/p>

The municipal museum devoted to Police nad Metuji is located on the first floor of the Benedictine monastery. The tour includes the abbot’s unique private chapel along with original Art Nouveau decor and altar. The toilet located behind the chapel is also unique. The main living room of the apartment is decorated as a 19th-century bourgeois room, with examples of furniture, paintings, glass and porcelain.<\/span><\/p>

The original baroque log building of two stpreys, with a shingle mansard roof, was built in 1785. There were two classrooms on the ground floor and apartments for teachers on the first floor. The authentic wooden stairs in the hall have been preserved from the original equipment.
