The Museum of Sport and Tourism in Karpacz collects exhibits, documents and all memorabilia related to the development of sport, tourism and environmental protection. The permanent exhibition is divided into three sections: “Origin and development of tourism in Karkonosze”, “Development of winter sports” and \u201cProtecting the nature\u201d.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

The first section presents exhibits and photograms documenting the most important manifestations of economic activity that enables the “taming” of nature in the mountains: the work of lumberjacks, metal workers, miners, shepherds and herbalists. These crafts and professions are the basis of the economy in the mountain areas, and at the same time have contributed to the development of tourism in this region. The exhibition also shows old engravings and original equipment documenting various ways of travelling by tourists in the Karkonosze of the 19th century, e.g. litters. In the following rooms, the exhibition “Development of winter sports” is presented. The Karkonosze Mountains are a region where various winter disciplines have developed, such as luge. The collected exhibits allow a visitor to trace the development and construction changes in the sports equipment. Numerous pieces of old skis, snow shoes, sledges and bobsleighs are shown here, most often made in craft workshops located in the Karkonosze Mountains. The exhibition also presents sports trophies of outstanding players as well as documents and memorabilia related to Polish athletes\u2019 achievements.<\/span><\/p>

The final part is devoted to \u201cProtecting the nature”. The presented exhibits and colourful photos show the natural environment of Karkonosze.<\/span><\/p>

Apart from the permanent exhibitions, the Museum of Sport and Tourism also presents a range of temporary ones, related in various ways to the museum’s profile.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
