A private museum owned by the Pičmans is located in the upper part of Ponikla. The first exhibition was made available to visitors in 1999 in an original barn with a half-timbered structure. In 2004, a new part of the museum was opened.

The Museum presents old, traditional agricultural tools for grain harvesting, grain threshing and straw processing, as well as various types of equipment necessary at home and on the farm. Particular attention is paid to traditional crafts that have been practiced by inhabitants of Ponikla for centuries: the production of characteristic Christmas decorations made of blown beads, threading of beads, linen processing, shoemaking, tinkering and carpentry.

Part of the exhibition concerns the old textile industry. Here you can see samples of old materials – used for the production of both clothing and decorative merchandise, and learn about various techniques of their production and ornamentation. Additionally, the Museum has arranged a children’s corner equipped with old toys, an old-style local inn and an ancient living room. After seeing the exhibition, guests can relax in a cosy room, sipping good coffee.

The museum closely cooperates with the Educational Society of Arts and Crafts based in Prague, which organises courses called “Ten Crafts” every summer. During the workshops, practical learning of selected handicrafts is enabled, including lace-making, batik, weaving, basketry and plaiting, woodcutting, blacksmithing, creating sandstone sculptures and others.
