The Papermaking Museum in Duszniki-Zdrój is located in a 16th-century paper mill, a candidate for inclusion to the UNESCO World Heritage List. The facility collects artefacts related to the history of papermaking in Poland and around the world. You can get acquainted with them while visiting the permanent exhibition entitled “With paper through two millennia”. One of the pillars of the museum collection, especially interesting for numismatic enthusiasts, is the presentation of various paper banknotes. They perfectly illustrate the historical, political and economic changes taking place throughout history. The museum also has the only artistic paper gallery in Poland and a temporary exhibition room, where new exhibitions appear regularly.
Apart from seeing the rich collection of objects in the field of papermaking, visitors can take part in paper making workshops, conducted in the original manufacturing hall. Hand-made sheets are a great souvenir from a visit to the museum. School trips can also take part in museum lessons, which enable teachers to supplement the curriculum of History, Art or Technology in an attractive way.
