The Karkonosze Center for Environmental Education (KCEE) is an educational institution of the Karkonosze National Park. The overarching task of the KCEE is to present the unique nature of the Krkonoše Mountains in an attractive way and to introduce various aspects of human activity (including crafts) in the area and its impact on the environment. The exposition entitled “Virtual Karkonosze” serves this purpose, showing the most valuable natural and beautiful landscape parts of the mountains, elements of post-glacial sculpture and the unique world of plants and animals. Through an interactive multimedia presentation, you can, among other things. take a look inside the Little Pond Basin, enjoy the beauty of the Krkonoše rocks and views from the highest peaks, move to the Arctic tundra on the top of the Krkonoše Mountains, see the glacial Great Pond, the vast rocky debris on the Black Ridge, and learn about more than 100 unique species of plants and animals of the Krkonoše Mountains. Screenings of films, diaporamas and various presentations are held in a comfortable projection room. The exhibition commentary was prepared in four language versions: Polish, Czech, German and English.
KCEE also conducts educational activities through special programs tailored to the age and interests of the audience. Different types of lessons and workshops include. Learn to distinguish tree species and learn about the use of wood in crafts, fine arts, processing and industry.
The center also has a temporary exhibition hall and a library with a reading room. Books, maps, brochures and other publications promoting Karkonosze and the Karkonosze National Park can be purchased on site.
