The private museum of the Brož family in Františkov was opened to the public in 2004. Initially, there was only a small exhibition of historical fire-fighting equipment, hired from volunteer fire brigades around the neighbouring villages. The Museum’s collections grew rapidly and a year later another exhibition hall was started. In 2006, a gallery was opened on the first floor, featuring works by local artists from various art fields and disciplines. Another part of the museum includes a fully reconstructed and equipped room in the mountain village style, as well as a festive room, both from the first half of the 20th century
In addition to the afore-mentioned historical firefighting artefacts, the Museum also exhibits agricultural machinery, household appliances and equipment, as well as craft tools used by the former inhabitants of the Karkonosze Mountains. There is also a section devoted to old folk costumes from different periods. The oldest exhibits include a fire pump from 1903 and an unequal decimal scale from 1825.
