The Weaving Museum in the House under Ash in Trutnov-Voletiny is housed on a renovated farmstead.

Permanent exhibitions are devoted to historical textile products. The museum is interactive, and each visitor can make a linen string on old weaving machines, try working on old-type looms and combing or spinning sheep’s wool.

The building houses the Karkonosze Weaving Mill, which is fully equipped for teaching folk crafts, spinning, weaving and processing wool and linen. In another part of the building there is a craft workshop where courses of folk crafts and artistic techniques are held, and visitors can make their own souvenirs.

The museum manages educational programs for adults, focusing on folk crafts: weaving, basketry and pottery; provides art courses in the fields of stained glass, drawing, a range of jewellery techniques, straw basket production, etc.

There are also vocational qualification courses for hand weavers and basket makers, as well as a number of accredited courses. Some training programs have been developed and implemented with the support from the EFS and the Ministry of Education. Educational activities for children allow them to learn about traditional Krkonoše crafts in attractive ways. One-day summer workshops for children are also provided, focusing on folk crafts and arts.

The museum runs a range of traditional events: Old Bohemian Christmas at the Museum and Easter at the Museum, and the Day of Krkonoše Crafts in the summer.
