Glasstudio Borowski is currently one of the most dynamic creators of artistic and unique glass products not only in the region, but also throughout Europe. The studio’s products are now manufactured in all the state-of-the-art techniques of hot and cold glass processing, which allows artists to realise their visions and carry out new, experimental projects.
The company was founded in 1990 on the initiative of the world-famous glass artist Stanisław Borowski, who works here together with his two sons: Paweł and Stanisław Jan. The senior of the family, Stanisław, began his professional career at the Glassworks in Krosno, where he learned the techniques of glass design and production. In the years 1970-1974 he collaborated with the State Higher School of Fine Arts (now the Academy of Fine Arts) in Wrocław, and in 1975 he started his independent artistic career. Over time, the family business has transformed from a small workshop into one of the most widely recognised artistic glass factories. For his achievements, Stanisław Borowski received numerous prestigious awards: the Grand Prix of the Habatat Gallery International Glass Exhibition in the United States, the Gloria Artis Medal for Merit to Culture awarded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, and the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of the E. Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław.
Borowski glass pieces are valued by buyers and collectors all over the world. Behind each object there is an intricate process of manual production, an old traditional refined glass craftsmanship that is now cultivated by very few craftsmen and studios.
Unique works created by Stanisław and his sons can be found in prestigious galleries, museums and private collections, e.g. at Corning Museum of Glass in New York (United States), Glasmuseum in Frauenau and Rheinbach (Germany), Badisches Landmuseum in Karlsruhe (Germany), Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, National Museum in Wrocław, Karkonosze Museum in Jelenia Góra and Ceramics Museum in Bolesławiec.
The Borowskis’ colorful collections can be purchased in shops and art galleries around the world, as well as in the place of their creation, i.e. in Tomaszów Bolesławiecki, where you can also visit the glassworks and learn the secrets of glass processing.
